Turn Your Body into a ‘Fat-Busting Machine’

By Admin | In Exercise and Nutrition Tips and Advice | on March 27, 2013

Get nutrition on your side.  Below are examples of how you can utilise food and drink to help turn your body into a ‘Fat-Busting Machine’.  You may be surprised to see some of them on the list.  If you are busting your gut in the gym, but not actually busting your gut away the way you would like to, add these tips into your nutrition plan and see the difference.  Within 4 weeks you will have a body that utilises fat as fuel more efficiently and therefore will burn more and more fat, getting the body you really want.

a.     Squeeze one grapefruit for its juice in the morning to have with breakfast.  Stops fat getting stored and helps it break it down. That’s the only juice you are allowed all day.

b.    Have a small segment of dark chocolate before bed – cocoa is rich in polyphenols antioxidants and helps to transport fats into your bloodstream where they can be used as fuel when you exercise.

c.     Drink Oolong tea or take a green tea extract – contains polyphenols, which are chemicals with potent antioxidant properties greater than Vitamin C.   increases fat oxidation and energy expenditure (of up to two and half times).

d.    Increase omega 3 intake with a fish oil supplement –  omega 3 is generally low in our diets and it is hard to get the right balance of omega 3 to omega 6.  Omega 3 is an important component of the membranes of fat cells.  We need to intake enough to keep the cells lubricated so the fat can get out.  Also reduces inflammation, improves memory and brain function.

e.     Before your main meal have a capful of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water – this increases circulation of bad fats and increases the circulation of good fats in your bloodstream.

f.      Add chilli to your food – increases metabolism and helps stop your body from storing fat around your gut.

g.     Put 1-5g of cinnamon in your porridge or in your tea.  Will satisfy your sweet tooth and increases the amount of energy you burn, while reducing the amount of excess fat you’ll store.

h.    Add black pepper to meals – an antioxidant that helps you recover from exercise quicker

i.      Use Coconut oil to cook with or instead of butter –  mobilises more fat into your blood, helping you burn extra calories from fat storage depots like your stomach.  Also great for your skin and hair.

Good Luck
