Firm Bottoms for the Ladies, Powerful Glutes for the Men

By Admin | In Exercise and Nutrition Tips and Advice | on March 21, 2013

Ladies, do you workout and do exercises to hit your glutes (bottom muscles) in order to firm them up?

Guys, do you do Squats and Deadlifts to get big, strong and powerful?  (you should be doing these exercises if you do want those outcomes)

Make sure you are maximising your potential.  Get the most out of your hard working gym time.

If you sit down a lot whether it be at a computer, desk, on the sofa watching TV, or perhaps you are constantly bent over looking after your children, then you are quite likely to have tight hip flexors.  Tight hip flexors inhibit neural drive to your Glutes.  I.e if you are tight in the hips, then you can’t activate your Glutes as well.  Therefore when doing all your hard work you may not be getting the results you desire or you may be having to work overtime to get them.

Test Hip flexor tightness.  If you are tight, make sure you release them before working out by foam rolling and stretching them.
