Easter Egg Challenge

By Admin | In Exercise and Nutrition Tips and Advice | on March 29, 2013

Did you know a 235g Aero Bubbles Easter Egg shell contains a whopping 1264.3 calories and 72.4g of fat?

Even a Cadbury’s Creme Egg contains 180 calories and 6.3g of fat.  So if you are tucking into your chocolate egg/eggs this Easter, how are you going to burn all these calories off again?

A 30 min brisk walk will burn approximately 200 calories.

A 20-30 min high intensity Bodyweight Exercise circuit will burn approximately 200 calories.

Easter Egg Challenge Plan:

1. Get the family out and go for a 2-3 hour walk – (You could include the Easter Egg Hunt in this challenge) – thats approximately 800 calories

2. In the morning or evening follow this Bodyweight Circuit plan: (burning 200 calories)

Warm up first then perform 3 sets of 15 reps of the following:

  • a) Squats
  • b) Press ups
  • c) Reverse Lunges
  • d) Plank (45 second hold)
  • e) Side Lunges
  • f) Side plank
  • g) Jumping jacks
  • i) Mountain Climbers

Then keep active throughout the day by playing with the kids (200 calories)

Thats an extra 1200 calories in the day, meaning you will have burnt off that whole Easter egg or 6 Cadbury Creme Eggs.  Or, perhaps you are good and only eat half the Easter egg, doing all this extra activity will create that deficit to take you into a weight loss plan.

Happy Easter
